The state-level examination helps qualifying candidates in getting admission into the law colleges of Andhra Pradesh that are affiliated with the exam.

The exam is held for three-year and five-year LLB programs as well as LLM. The application process will take place online and the exam will be held in May 2024.

AP LAWCET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Following are the detailed eligibility criteria for AP LAWCET 2024:

Nationality

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • The candidate must be a resident of Andhra Pradesh.
  • A candidate will be considered a resident of Andhra Pradesh if he/she is a native resident of Andhra Pradesh, or at least one of the candidate’s parents belongs to the domicile of Andhra Pradesh, or at least one of the candidate’s parents has studied in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Qualifying Examination

  • For five year LLB program, the candidate should have passed his/her 10+2 exams from a recognized board.
  • For three year LLB program, the candidate should have a three years bachelor’s degree from a recognized board or university.
  • For the LLM program, the candidate should have a bachelor’s in law degree from a recognized board or university.
  • Appearing candidates are also eligible to apply, provided they pass the qualifying examination.

Minimum Marks Requirements

  • For general categories, the candidate should have secured minimum marks of 45% in the qualifying examination.
  • For reserved categories ( SC/ST), the candidate should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination.

Age Requirements

  • For five year LLB program, the candidate should be at least 17 years of age at the time of examination.
  • For three year LLB program, the candidate should be at least 21 years of age at the time of examination.
  • There is no upper age limit for the examination.

AP LAWCET 2024 Other Important Details

  • The application forms have to be filled out and submitted online along with the application fee.
  • Candidates will be given a correction window to correct any details in the application form.
  • Exam centers will be located throughout the state of Andhra Pradesh.
  • The exam will be held in May 2024, and the candidate must carry his/her admit card as well as valid id proof during the examination.
  • The counseling process will begin in the month of October 2024.
