Delhi UniversityDelhi University provides M.A. Department of Economics, Delhi School of Economics. in Economics. The M.A. The2-year full-time Economics program consists of 15 courses, six of which are compulsory core courses and nine are elective / optional courses. The programs will last for a period of four years. Semester-I includes studying Microeconomic Theory, Mathematical Economics Introductory, Introductory Econometrics.

Students studying Macroeconomic Theory, Markets, Institutions and Economic Growth, India’s Economic Development & Policy, and One optional paper in Semester II. There are four optional papers in Semester 03 and 04 each.

DU DSE MA (Economics) Admission will be conducted as per University rules for the 2019 session that is the next session. University conducts online registration for admission to all postgraduate classes.

The method includes registering through the website of the department. Registration is expected to begin in June 2019, 02nd week. Based on merit, a candidate will be chosen.

The merit is taken taking into account the proportion of marks acquired in degree and marks acquired in the written examination. The division of marks will be 50-50.

DU DSE MA (Economics) Admission 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Indian Students (General Category)

Indian nationals may be admitted via two Direct / Merit Mode or Entrance Test Mode methods. However, a percentage of marks must be achieved for each mode:-

  • Direct/Merit Mode– A applicant should secure at least 60% aggregate in B.A. Economics (Hons)
  • Entrance Test Mode– A applicant should secure at least 60% or 1st division or equivalent CGPA in any UnderGraduate/Postgraduate degree in any subject.

Foreign Students

A foreign national may be given choice to choose either take a Departmental test or submit their GRE Scores along with 2 recommendation letters from their 2 academic referees.

Entrance Test: Who chooses to appear for the entrance test must fill the ONLINE form and apply within the prescribed period.

GRE Scores: Candidate must display a high level of mathematical competence through marks obtained in graduation at the university studied and in GRE test. After filling the form, you might be asked to sent it to the university officials.

DU DSE MA (Economics) Admission 2019 Application Forms

Candidates must complete the application form by visiting the Department’s official website, i.e. www.econdse.org. The enrollment method includes giving personal details, educational information, experience if any, information of correspondence, uploading of scanned photographs and signatures etc. And lastly there will be a fee payment. Candidates will receive the number and password of their application. The application form will be downloaded using these credentials.


DU DSE M.A. (Economics) Entrance Exam Pattern 2019

You should know what is being taught in B.A. at DU. (Honors) Program of Economics. Your ideas should be apparent and the following subjects should be known to you:

  • microeconomic theory,
  • macroeconomic theory,
  • mathematical techniques used by economists, and
  • probability, statistics and elementary econometrics.

The question paper will only have questions of multiple choices. You will observe four alternatives out of which only 1 will be right in such a situation. Paper is going to be in mode OFFLINE. Use Black / Blue ball point pen to clearly darken the right circle. Mark just a bubble. For right responses, you will be marked positively.


Minimum qualifying marks to be secured in DU DSE MA (Economics) entrance exam 2019

In the written test, a candidate must secure minimum percentage of marks. The minimum qualifying marks in the Entrance Test as per last year was 40% (General category), 36% (OBC category), and 20% (SC/ST category).


DU DSE M.A. 2019 (Economics) Admission Merit Lists

Department will prepare separate lists of merits for the category reserved and the category open. These lists will be released on the Department Administrative Office’s website and notice board. The marks acquired in the exam will be used to rank applicants after applying the requirements of minimum marks.

The choice of the Admissions Committee shall be taken as final and binding on everyone for shortlisting applicants. To secure admission, these applicants must present their initial records for verification and pay the course fee.

Documents required may include the following:

  • All original certificates and marksheets including date of birth certificate along with the attested photocopies thereof starting from 10th class
  • 4 recent passport size photographs.

Admission slips will be given to successful applicants to be generated at the moment of registration at the Delhi School of Economics or at any of the colleges.


Selection for admission in DU DSE M.A. (Economics) 2019

According to last year’s university rules, 50% of seats were allocated for instant entry of students who graduated with B.A. Economics (Hons) and the remaining 50% were filled by the entry test.
