In order to secure admissions in design programmes on offer at NID, aspirants need to clear two stages which are:
- Stage 1: NID DAT (Prelims) – Pen & paper-based written test
- Stage 2: NID DAT (Mains) – Studio Test and Personal Interview
The Design Aptitude Test (DAT) conducted by NID is a three-hour duration exam and the total weightage of the test is 100 marks. This is a pen and paper-based test.
The medium of instruction of NID DAT 2018 is English and the test paper comprises of both objective as well as subjective questions. NID DAT (Prelims)is conducted to test an aspirant on the below-mentioned abilities:
NID Entrance Exam comprises of questions on topics like visual design, subjects of design, environmental sensitivity, thematic color arrangement,
memory drawing, proportions and perspective, drawing skills, animation and abstract symbolism, general mental ability, composition and communication skills as well as the creative ability of an aspirant.
