(The National Institute of Design) NID Entrance Exam is a design school in Ahmedabad, INDIA.

NID Entrance Exam 2018 Eligibility Criteria
All applicants applying for the B.Des. and GDPD programmes must fulfill both the following criteria; of age and education qualification:
For Indian Nationals in General Category: Upper age limit of any candidate is 20 years as on 30 June 2018. Only those candidates born on or after,1 July 1998 are eligible to apply for admission.
For Indian Nationals in Reserved Category (OBC-NCL, SC, ST): Upper age limit of every candidate is23 years as on 30 June 2018. Only those candidate born or after 1 July 1995 are eligible to apply for admission.
For Indian Nationals in PwD Reserved Category: Upper age limit for candidates is 25 years as on 30 June 2018. Only those candidate which are born on or after 1 July 1993 is eligible to apply for admission.
For Foreign Nationals in Overseas (Supernumerary) Category: Upper age limit for candidates is 20 years as on 30 June 2018. Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 1998 are eligible to apply for admission.
Educational Qualification: Applications for the academic year 2018–19 are open for applicants who have passed or will appear for higher secondary (10+2) qualifying examinations in the academic year 2017–18 in any stream (Science, Arts, Commerce, etc.)
NID Entrance Exam 2018 Exam Pattern
In order to secure admissions in design programmes on offer at NID, aspirants need to clear two stages which are:
- Stage 1: NID DAT (Prelims) – Pen & paper-based written test
- Stage 2: NID DAT (Mains) – Studio Test and Personal Interview
The Design Aptitude Test (DAT) conducted by NID is a three-hour duration exam and the total weightage of the test is 100 marks. This is a pen and paper-based test.
The medium of instruction of NID DAT 2018 is English and the test paper comprises of both objective as well as subjective questions. NID DAT (Prelims)is conducted to test an aspirant on the below-mentioned abilities:
NID Entrance Exam comprises of questions on topics like visual design, subjects of design, environmental sensitivity, thematic color arrangement,
memory drawing, proportions and perspective, drawing skills, animation and abstract symbolism, general mental ability, composition and communication skills as well as the creative ability of an aspirant.
NID Entrance Exam 2018 Dates
NID DATE 2018 is divided into two parts, that is, first and second. NID DAT Part I will consist of Multiple Choice Objective Type questions and its weightage is 70 marks.
This part of the paper has one or more correct answers. On the other hand, Part II of this exam has subjective type questions and the weightage of this section is 30 marks.

Counselling of NID DAT 2018 will include following events that will be conducted for admissions –
Declaration of NID DAT 2018 final result for B.Des.
Document verification, fee payment and completion of admission formalities at NID Ahmedabad campus Orientation programme at the campus.
B.Des admissions will be provided at NID Ahmedabad on the basis of its selection method that extends beyond candidates’ previous academic qualifications.
Candidates will be evaluated on different parameters like design aptitude, attitude, achievement and motivation required in a prospective design student.
