OUAT 2018 Overview

OUATThe University of Agriculture and Technology of Orissa (OUAT) conducts the OUAT entrance examination for the selection of students in UG, PG and doctoral studies.

Students can take courses in the fields of agriculture, horticulture, veterinary medicine, livestock, agriculture and technology, fisheries, national science and forestry after clearing the OUAT exam.

Candidates wishing to participate in affiliated OUAT colleges must fill an application form.

OUAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates can secure their eligibility to participate in the OUAT 2018 entrance examination. Check qualification regarding qualification:

For UG Courses Minimum Qualification for Qualifying Exam:

  • B.Sc (Ag) 10+2 passed with Science subjects with minimum 50% PCM or PCB
    aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST/PH candidates).
  • B.Sc 10+2 passed with Science subjects with minimum 50% PCM or PCB
    (forestry) aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST/PH candidates).
  • B.Sc 10+2 passed with Science subjects with minimum 50% PCM or PCB
    (horticulture) aggregate marks(40% for SC/ST/PH candidates).
  • B.V.Sc.& 10+2 passed with Science subjects with minimum 50% PCB
  • A.H. aggregate marks(40% for SC/ST/PH candidates).
  • B.Tech 10+2 passed with science subjects with minimum 50% PCM
    (Ag.Engg.) aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST/PH candidates).
  • B.F.Sc. 10+2 passed with science subjects with minimum 50% PCB
    aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST/PH candidates).
  • B.Sc. 10+2 passed with science subjects with minimum 50% PCM or PCB
    (Home Sc.) aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST/PH candidates).

Minimum Qualification For PG and PhD Courses:

  • M.Sc(Botany) 3 years B.Sc.(with Honours/Core/Major in Botany) with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).
  • M.Sc(Chemistry) 3years B.Sc. (with core/honours/major in Chemistry) 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).
  • M.Sc 3years B.Sc.(with honours in mathematics)/B.Sc. (Hons.)/ core/ major in mathematics and
  • (Mathematics) computing with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).
  • M.Sc 3years B.Sc.(with Major in Botany / Zoology / Microbiology / Biotechnology) / B.Sc (Ag.) / B.V.Sc &
    (Microbiology) A.H / B.F.Sc. / B.Sc.(Horticulture)/B.Tech.(diary science/Biotechnology)/B.H.M.S with minimum 50%
    marks (45% for SC/ST).
  • M.Sc(Physics) 3years B.Sc. (with Honours/Core/Major in Physics)
  • M.Sc(Zoology) 3years B.Sc.(with Honours/Core/Major in Zoology) with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).
  • M.Sc 3years B.Sc(with hounours/core/major in Biotechnology) with minimum 50% marks(45% for SC/ST).

PhD Course Minimum Qualification:

  • Physics M.Sc in Physics with minimum 55% marks.
  • Chemistry M.Sc in Chemistry with minimum 55% marks.
  • Mathematics M.Sc in Mathematics with minimum 55% marks.
  • Botany M.Sc in Botany with minimum 55% marks.
  • Zoology M.Sc in Zoology with minimum 55% marks.
  • Microbiology M.Sc in Microbiology with minimum 6.5%.

OUAT 2018 Exam Pattern

Subjects Covered: The questionnaire will consist of subjects such as physics, chemistry, mathematics/biology. Candidates need to answer either the “Mathematics / Biology” question
Question type: The questions will be objective type.
Maximum Marks: The entrance exam will be of 200 marks. For the PG and PhD courses, the exam will consist of 100 marks, including 40 questions of objective type and 60 questions with a short answer. Viva-voce will be conducted additionally for candidates of PhD.
Medium: The exam environment will be in English only.
Exam duration: The duration of the test will be 2 hours.

OUAT 2018 Application Form
  • OUAT applications will be filled online.
  • The application form for PG and PhD courses will also be available offline.
  • Candidates wishing to submit an application offline can download and print the application form OUAT 2018 through the official website of the University.
  • Candidates are invited to send an application for participation in all respects to “Director, College of Fundamental Sciences and Humanities, OUAT, Bhubaneswar-751003” until the last date.
  • All applicants must also submit Form B after passing the exam. Form-B must be sent offline with all details required within given date

Application Fee:

Applicants must pay 1000 rupees/- for submitting an application. Fees can be submitted through the SBI data collection facility.


OUAT 2018 Syllabus
  • The OUAT entrance exam program will have questions of 10 + 2 standards for UG courses.
  • Candidates must prepare subjects of physics, chemistry and mathematics/biology according to their 12th program.
  • The OUAT curriculum for PG courses encompasses a course taught at the bachelor’s level.


OUAT 2018 Admit Card
  • Eligible candidates can upload their OUAT Form-A-cum-admit card form the official website of the University.
  • A confirmation card will be available in the first week of May 2018.
  • On the day of the exam, candidates must present an identity proof, a copy of the electronic mailing together with the admit card.
  • The OUAT PG and the Ph.D card can be obtained by contacting the Director one day before the exam.

OUAT 2018 Result
  • The University of Agriculture and Technology of Orissa State will announce the result of OUAT 2018 on its official website.
  • The list of merits will candidate’s assessment at the entrance examination, study and extracurricular activities.
  • To obtain a seat, candidates must attend the OUAT consultative / reception process.

OUAT 2018 Counselling
  • Advising OUAT 2018 will be conducted for qualified candidates in July 2018.
  • Students will be informed about counselling through the official website of the University.
  • Candidates who have been allocated seats must bring their documents at the time of admission.
