UCEED 2018: Application Form, Admit Card and Results 2018

UCEED 2018 Overview

UCEEDUndergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design 2018 (UCEED 2018) is an entrance exam that was conducted by Indian Institute of Technology Bombay under UCEED Admissions Committee 2018 for admissions in B.Des. course.

The UCEED 2018 exam was held on January 20 and its UCEED 2018 answer keys are published on January 27.

Candidates who want to take admission in the Bachelor Degree programme in Design (B. Des) at primer institutes like – Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) and Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing Jabalpur (IIITDMJ) have to apply for it for which application form was be released in October 2017 to appear for UCEED exam 2018.

Candidates need to check on the official website of UCEED to get updated information about the exam like the application dates, fee payment, admit card, results etc.

The UCEED 2018 score is valid only for the admission to the same academic year and the exam is held at various centers across India. When the declaration of UCEED result 2018 is announced, a scorecard of the candidates who eligible for the admission will be prepared.

UCEED 2018 can be filled by all nationals who want to have graduation in designing( B.Des). UCEED 2018 is a computer-based entrance examination. 3 hours time is given to solve the questions.

Eligibility Criteria for Applying for UCEED

To apply for admission, a candidate needs to fulfill the following 3 requirement
Criterion A – Age limit:

The candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 1993, if belonging to the OPEN or OBC-NCL category and, on or after October 1, 1988, if belonging to the SC, ST or PWD category.

Criterion B – UCEED Qualification:
The candidate should have qualified, i.e., obtained a rank in UCEED 2018.

Criterion C – Qualifying examination:
The applicant must have passed the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2017 / 2018. Students who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination in 2016 or earlier are NOT eligible.

Students having Science Stream with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as subjects are eligible to apply to all the three institutes.

Students having any other stream (Science without Maths / Physics / Chemistry, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible to apply to only IIT Bombay and IIITDM Jabalpur.

The students appearing for their qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2018 should confirm that,
(a) all parts of their final exams are completed by the date of registration in a respective admitting institute
(b) proof of having passed the qualifying examination with required eligibility must be submitted by September 30, 2018, to the allotted institute.

If a qualifying examination Board awards only letter grades( for eg. A, B etc.) without mentioning information of the passing grade on the grade sheet, the student needs to obtain a certificate from the Board mentioning the passing grade and upload it with the grade sheet.

In case such a certificate is not provided, the decision will be taken by the B. Des Admissions Committee for seat allotment.

The requirements, as specified above, is applicable “in toto” to all the applicants including non-Indian nationals. Applications from non-Indian nationals including OCI (Overseas Citizen of India)/ PIO (People of Indian Origin) card holders will be considered under the open category and they are not allowed of reservation of seats under the OBC-NCL, SC, ST and PwD categories.

Seats allotted to non- Indian nationals are supernumerary. However, seats allotted to OCI/PIO candidates are not supernumerary.

UCEED 2018 Application form for Admission

Only UCEED 2018 qualified students are allowed to apply for admission to the B. Des programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, and IIITDM Jabalpur for the academic session 2018-2019.

The 3 institutes will have a common application form for admissions to their respective B. Des programmes. The JEE (Advanced), UCEED & CEED Office, IIT Bombay will process the common application form and carry out the joint seat allocation process.

The common application form is available on the IIT Bombay Admissions Portal. Candidates need to fill in their personal particulars and select institutes of their choice by mentioning the order of preference.

The B. Des application processing fee for candidates for all category and all gender is Rs 1000 (One Thousand Indian Rupees).
The application can be submitted after paying the application fee, uploading digital copies of required documents, and uploading the signed copy of the completed application form (first page only).

Seat Allotment
Three rounds of seat allocation will be conducted. However, once all the seats are allocated, the seat allocation will be closed. Seats will be allotted based on the UCEED merit, category and choice of institutes.

Selected candidates will be sent provisional allotment letters through their registered email, and they need to pay be through online payment system to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee of Rs. 60000 (Sixty Thousand Indian Rupees) for GEN and OBC-NCL and Rs. 15,000/- for SC/ST/PWD.

UCEED 2018 Result
  • Results are declared on February 18, 2018.
  • UCEED results are available on the website Applicants require their user login and password (same as used in the registration process) for viewing the results on the webpage.
  • UCEED qualified students can download their scorecards from 18th February 2018 onwards.
  • The hard copy of the UCEED scorecard will not be available.
  • Obtaining a rank in UCEED 2018 does not guarantee admission to the B. Des programme.
